Meet The Researchers

Manish Vaidya, Ph.D.

Manish Vaidya earned his undergraduate and Master's degrees in Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas under the guidance of Janet Ellis and Sigrid Glenn. He went on to earn his Ph.D. at the University of Florida under the guidance of Tim Hackenberg and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Kansas with Kate Saunders and Dean Williams before joining the faculty of the Department of Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas. He has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior and served on the editorial boards of The Psychological Record, The Behavior Analyst and as guest reviewer for several other journals. He served as Chair of the department from 2018 - 2023 before retiring from academic life to more directly pursue his research and applied interests in exploring and expanding a role for behavior science in health-related domains. He  serves on the Board of Directors of the Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior and continues to stay involved in disciplinary activities. The long-term vision for the Institute reflects his conviction that the behavioral sciences can contribute to better living in many important ways. 


Sacheen Mehta, M.D.

Sacheen Mehta is a double board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with 25 years of clinical experience.  Dr. Mehta graduated with honors with undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry and an MD degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, all in 6 years.  Following internship and residency at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, Dr. Mehta completed the renowned sports medicine fellowship under Frank Noyes, MD at the Cincinnati Sportsmedicine and Orthopaedic Center.  As the founder and current president of Comprehensive Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Dr. Mehta runs a busy orthopaedic surgery practice and physical therapy clinic with focus on total joint replacement, sports medicine, and rehabilitation.  Dr. Mehta has won numerous awards and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. 

Douglas Conner, OPA-C

Douglas Conner, a Texas native, graduated from Texas A&M University in 2000 witih a BS in Sports and Exercise Sciences. Following an internship in Athletic Training, he became head Athletic Trainer at Canyon High School before transitioning to Health South, where he worked with Richardson High School. In 2004, he passed the National Board Certification for Orthopedic Physician Assistants, leading him to join Comprehensive Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. Since then, Douglas has been a key member of the team, providing exceptional care to patients with orthopedic injuries and conditions. He is known for his dedication, expertise, and compassionate approach to helping individuals recover and return to their active lifestyles. With a commitment to staying updated on the latest advancements in sports medicine, Douglas continues to make a positive impact on the lives of his patients.Â
